And in three of those photos you can see signs of the super-macho Scottish termites. Not content with mere wood, and having evolved in close proximity to large quantities of scotch, they instead bore holes clear through rocks.
While impressive, this also means that the termites tend to starve to death in a few days (what with stone being indigestible and all). This is why the Scottish termite hasn't taken over the rest of the world. Yet.
Small Things is a photo blog which serves two purposes.
Firstly, it allows me to indulge my slightly obsessive passion for photographing Small Things.
Secondly, it lets the Small Things have a place to live on the internet. Since most of these items are ones that are ignored when people are out and about, it only seems merciful to acknowledge them.
